Tour Overview

Kabini, part of the Nagarhole Tiger Reserve in Karnataka, is one of India's best-managed wildlife areas, with forest, grassland and the Kabini backwaters in one frame. It is best known for its elephant herds, tigers and leopards, and for the famous black panther. The black panther is a rare sighting and is never guaranteed; this trip is planned so that you come home with strong images whatever the forest offers.

This small-group mentorship is limited to four photographers and is paced for comfort, with structured safaris and daily reviews.

Led by Sreejith, wildlife photographer and founder of SreejithCaptures, this intimate small-group mentorship pairs field coaching with daily image reviews so every outing builds your confidence and your portfolio.

By the end of this mentorship, you will learn:
✓ How to photograph big cats and elephants in forest light
✓ How to choose settings for fast, unpredictable action
✓ How to anticipate behaviour and position for the shot
✓ How to work backwater light, reflections and silhouettes
✓ How to cull and edit your strongest images

This Experience Is Perfect For:
✓ Wildlife photography beginners and enthusiasts
✓ Photographers wanting a comfortable, low-fatigue safari
✓ Anyone wanting personal, in-field guidance

Not suitable for:
✗ Large tourist groups
✗ Sightseeing-only safaris

  • ✓Black panther territory (not guaranteed)
  • ✓Elephant herd moments
  • ✓Backwater safaris

      Frequently Asked Questions

Is this tour suitable for beginners?
Absolutely. This is a hands-on mentorship built for beginners and enthusiasts alike. You don't need prior experience — if you can bring your camera and your curiosity, I'll guide you through settings, composition and reading wildlife behaviour in the field.
What camera gear do I need?
A DSLR or mirrorless camera with a telephoto lens (roughly 200mm and above; a 100–400mm is ideal) covers most situations. If you're unsure what to bring or want to rent something, message me before the trip and I'll help you choose.
      How physically demanding is it?
It's comfortable for most fitness levels. Most photography happens from an open safari jeep during game drives, so there's no long trekking involved. Expect early starts to catch the best light — that's the main demand.
      What's included in the price?
Accommodation, meals, in-park transport, expert guiding, park and conservancy fees, and daily photography mentoring with personal image review. See the "Includes" section above for the full list. International flights, visa and travel insurance are not included.
Can I get a private room?
Yes. Rooms are shared by default, but a private/single room (if available) can be booked for a 10% supplement — just select it when you book.
How do I reserve my place and pay?
You can secure your spot online with a 25% deposit and pay the balance before the tour. Paying the full amount upfront is also available at checkout. Payments are handled through a secure gateway.
      How big is the group?
Deliberately small — this trip is capped at 4 photographers. Keeping the group tight means everyone gets genuine personal mentoring, a clear line of sight at every sighting, and room to work — not a crowded bus.
What if I need to cancel?
Life happens — if your plans change, get in touch with me directly and I'll do my best to work with you. Cancellation specifics are covered in the Terms & Conditions.
